Twentieth of October

So I have done my drift project, and
just finished having my crit.
I could have been better but it could have been worse too.
I am going to develop my outcome making my image a little
more well round and maybe experiment doing some digital
manipulation and some better hand rendered illustrations.
But I like some of my peers like the layout and the way it flows.
I will upload photos of it later on today.

When I went out for the drift I went to Slades, found it quickly
even though I just had a measly hand drawn map and proceeded
to explore the park itself. I already knew it was one of the first parks
built in the UK and because its a snake run, it would be mostly people
on bikes.

When I arrived no one was there so I took some photographs,
which can been seen on my flickr.

But after a while I was sketching down some
of the graffitti which appeals to me and a few people
finally came along, I started talking to them. Callum and Greg,
both at the BU studying Music Tech I think, and they
agreed to let me snap some photographs and then some
bmxers also shows, Morgan and two others. Callum gave me
his full name so I could send him some photos and is now using
some of my photos on his "Facebook" and other social networking websites.

Here are a few links I have found interesting today:

Alex my housemates portfolio/website. I am
speaking to him about teaching me illustrator.

Useful for typography.

Just one of my most watched videos on youtube.
M83 are one of my many great inspirations,
M83 comes from Messier 83 (a spiral galaxy).

Also repeatedly in the last few days I have been told
that some of my work looks very inspired by "Si Scott"
However I hadn't heard of him until well, a few days ago,
I have researched him and R E A L L Y like him. I am
definatley going to use him as inspiration for a project
over the next few briefs. Unbelievable that it is hand
rendered.

I can now see where they are coming from, the "Void" type and also
the wall design I did middle bottom are both similar to his work and
both hand rendered.

Pal today again was really useful, the second years brought in their
sketchbooks from their first projects. I realized the quantity of work
and how it should be laid out. I think I'm on the right track. But
I just hope when its complete it does flow and there are so many
little projects within the text + image brief.
